# Getting started

## Connect a wallet

1. Open [hann.finance](https://hann.finance) and select your language.
2. Select **Connect**. Choose your wallet in the connection dialog. Kaia Wallet, MetaMask, Rabby, OKX, Binance, and D'CENT have dedicated connection paths; **Other wallets** opens the broader wallet selection.
3. Approve the connection in your wallet. A connection lets the app read your address and balances; transferring assets requires a separate transaction.
4. Check the connected address and network before opening a position.

On a phone, the wallet dialog can open the current page in a supported wallet's in-app browser or show a WalletConnect connection. Continue in the wallet app using the route displayed by the dialog.

## Choose the network

| Network | Chain ID | Native fee token |
| -------------- | -------- | ---------------- |
| Kaia Mainnet   | `8217`   | KAIA             |
| Kairos testnet | `1001`   | Test KAIA        |

The app's selected deployment determines the network and contract addresses. When the wallet is connected to a different network, switch it to the network requested by the app. Kaia Mainnet and Kairos have separate balances and contracts. The `kaia-prod` and `kaia-qa` deployment profiles both use chain `8217`, but their contract identities remain separate.

Keep KAIA available for network fees in addition to the asset used by the action. A displayed **Max** amount can reserve native KAIA for fees. Testnet tokens are used on Kairos and do not represent mainnet balances.

## Choose an action

| App menu | Action                                                                    |
| -------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Market   | [Supply, withdraw, borrow, or repay](/protocol/lending.md)                |
| Borrow   | [Borrow USDHN against collateral](/protocol/borrowing-and-liquidation.md) |
| Earn | [Deposit USDHN or manage pool positions](/protocol/usdhn-and-earn.md) |
| Convert  | [Swap or bridge assets](/protocol/stableswap-dex.md)                      |
| Stake | [Stake KAIA and manage bKAIA withdrawals](/protocol/bkaia-and-hnkaia.md) |
| Wrap     | [Mint or redeem HNKAIA](/protocol/bkaia-and-hnkaia.md)                    |
| Leverage | [Increase, adjust, or close leveraged collateral](/protocol/loops.md) |

## Review and sign

Enter an amount, then review the asset, destination, fees, and the resulting position. Borrowing screens also show debt and collateral conditions; swap screens show the quote and minimum received amount.

| Step              | What it authorizes                                                           |
| ----------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Wallet connection | Makes the selected address available to the app |
| Token approval | Grants the displayed contract permission to spend the specified token |
| Signature | Signs the request shown by the wallet; its meaning is stated in that request |
| Transaction | Sends the operation to the selected chain and consumes network fees |

The required steps depend on the operation and existing permissions. For example, supplying an ERC20 asset can require token approval, while a native KAIA operation uses a payable gateway. Each action's guide describes its steps.

## Confirm the result

A successful chain receipt confirms that the transaction was included and succeeded. The app then refreshes balances and positions. The refresh can finish after the receipt arrives; a delayed display refresh does not justify submitting the same transaction again.

Some actions have separate settlement results. A bKAIA withdrawal request creates tickets for the amount accepted by the vault, and ready tickets must be claimed later. Check the processed amount and tickets after the request.

| State                                     | Next action                                                                                                                                              |
| ----------------------------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Wallet request canceled before submission | Return to the form and confirm again after reviewing the values |
| Transaction pending | Follow the transaction hash on the selected chain's explorer |
| Transaction reverted | Read the failure message, correct the amount or affected condition, and request a new transaction; the failed transaction can still consume network fees |
| Receipt succeeded, display still updating | Check the receipt and wait for the position refresh |
| Amount or quote unavailable | Wait for the required value before signing; an unavailable value is not a zero balance |

## Check positions and points

The home screen groups wallet balances, borrowing, Market, and Earn positions. Open the relevant position to manage it. [Accounts and product questions](/overview/general.md) explains the point categories and address-based views.

Use the contract identity for the selected network and deployment. [Smart contracts](/developers/smart-contracts.md) describes how the app resolves those identities. Hann Finance never asks for your wallet's private key or seed phrase.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.hann.finance/getting-started.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
