# About Hann Finance

Lending, USDHN borrowing, staking, and asset conversion on Kaia

Hann Finance brings lending markets, USDHN borrowing, KAIA staking, and asset conversion together on Kaia. Connect a wallet, choose an asset, and sign the action you want to take. The contracts record your deposits, debt, and position ownership on-chain.

## How USDHN connects the product

A borrower opens a **Trove**, deposits collateral, and receives newly minted USDHN. Each Trove has its own collateral, debt, interest rate, and NFT identifier.

USDHN then has three main uses:

* Deposit it into Earn to receive the selected Stability Pool's interest and liquidation proceeds.
* Exchange it for other assets, or pair it with another token to provide liquidity.
* Redeem it through the protocol for collateral, paying the redemption fee.

Repaying USDHN reduces the borrower's debt. Closing a Trove repays its outstanding debt and releases the remaining collateral. A redemption by another USDHN holder also reduces a Trove's debt and collateral according to the redemption order.

## Lending and CDP borrowing

**Borrow** creates USDHN debt in a Trove. Its liquidation condition uses the Trove's collateral ratio and the selected branch's rules.

**Market** supplies and borrows existing assets through lending pools. Collateral and debt across the lending account determine its health factor. A health factor below 1 places the account in the liquidation range.

The two systems maintain separate positions and debt. Depositing into one does not repay a loan in the other.

## Staking assets

**bKAIA** represents a share of staked KAIA in the bKAIA vault. The amount of KAIA represented by a share follows the vault's accounting. Receiving KAIA back requires an unstaking request, a waiting period, and a claim.

**HNKAIA** represents a share of a KAIA-denominated vault holding supported LSTs such as stKAIA, wGCKAIA, and bKAIA. Its mint and redemption amounts depend on the vault's assets and conversion rates.

USDHN and HNKAIA also include OFT cross-chain transfer contracts. A bridge transfer has a source-chain transaction and a separate destination-chain delivery.

## Approvals and execution

Token approval gives a specified contract permission to spend an amount of a token. The deposit, swap, or borrowing transaction then performs the selected action. Zappers combine several protocol operations into one transaction after the required approvals.

Transaction previews show the amounts, costs, and resulting position before signing. [Account and common questions](/overview/general.md) explains account navigation and points. [Risk disclosure](/security/risk-disclosure.md) describes the conditions that change or reduce a position's value.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.hann.finance/overview/about-hann-finance.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
